How to create a Document, Spreadsheet, or Presentation in Docs. This rebuild is written by the Oernoe Editorial Team for readers who need a clear job on one URL. Oernoe is an independent technology company. We describe live product chrome from verified tours and published company pages, and we prefer a deep-tour observation when it conflicts with older How-To text. This essay does not pad with audience-size theater, and it does not invent controls that were not on the screen.

If you need collaboration today, stop and read the Share section before you promise a teammate a link. The product surface looks ready. The dialog is honest that it is not.

How Docs sits beside the rest of the live map

Chat is private messaging. It is not where you author a Presentation. AI is branded Noevik and helps draft; it is not Docs. Search answers the open web; it does not store your Untitled Document. Health’s public landing promises metrics, streaks, and challenges, but the deep tour saw landing only. Tracker is a personal life tracker with Today, Habits, Homework, Focus, and Daily Check-In — and the tour’s Great check-in hit a permission denied error. Account at account.oernoe.com is the hub for Profile and Security. Mail has not shipped.

Live product labels from the September 17–18 deep tour remain the authority when marketing conflicts. Document, Spreadsheet, and Presentation are the three creation cards. Share says coming soon. Quota is on the order of two gigabytes. That is the how-to. Create the file. Save to Drive. Wait for Share to become real before you teach collaboration as finished.

If the dashboard, editor chrome, or Share dialog changes after this tour date, update this essay or add a correction note. Do not leave a how-to that promises a share workflow the dialog still refuses.

What the Docs dashboard shows before you create anything

The tour loaded docs.oernoe.com into a signed-in dashboard headed Oernoe Docs. Subcopy read Your work, saved to Oernoe Drive. Workspace and Start something new were visible. Autosave enabled was on the chrome. Recent work was empty until files existed. Quota showed 0.00 MB of 2 GB used.

The three creation cards used exact Oernoe labels:

Document — for rich text, formatting, and autosave.

Spreadsheet — for cells, rows, and live saves.

Presentation — for slides, notes, and presentation flow.

Those labels are the product. Use them when you teach someone else. Do not rewrite them as office-suite nicknames from another company. Avoid inventing a separate Slides hostname or a separate Sheets product page. Docs authors. Drive stores. Account unlocks both.

The dashboard is not a marketing brochure. It is the place you start. If the page asks you to sign in, finish that on account.oernoe.com and come back. The deep tour already had a session, so the dashboard opened without a login wall.

Create a Document

Click Document on the Start something new row. The editor opens as Untitled Document. That is enough to confirm the path works. You do not need to write a novel to prove creation. The tour left the file blank on purpose.

Document chrome from the tour included menus File, Edit, View, Insert, Format, Tools, and Extensions. Useful controls included Find in document, Version history, Dark mode, Document tabs, Add document tab, and Tab 1. Editing affordances covered Undo, Redo, Bold (Ctrl+B), Italic (Ctrl+I), Underline (Ctrl+U), Heading 1, Heading 2, Bullet List, Numbered List, Align Left, Align Center, Align Right, Insert Link, Quote, Divider, Clear formatting, and Code Block. Language chips such as Java and C++ appeared among formatting tools. The footer showed 0 words, Saved to Oernoe Drive, and Save.

Share sat in the header. Access was present but disabled. That pairing is the whole honesty problem in one glance: the UI is ready to talk about sharing, and the control that would open live access is not enabled yet.

After creation, the blank Document appeared in Recent work and later showed up in Drive as Untitled Document with the Document type label. Autosave and Drive linkage were visible without a long writing session. If you are drafting a real note, the same footer and autosave story should hold. If Save fails, treat it as a bug and write support@oernoe.com with time, browser, and what you clicked.

Create a Spreadsheet

Click Spreadsheet. The workbook opens as Untitled Spreadsheet with path chrome Oernoe Drive / Spreadsheet, Saved to Oernoe Drive, and Live workbook · changes save automatically. Cell address A1 was visible. Columns started at A through F. Rows started at 1. Controls included Dark mode, Row, Clear, CSV, and Save.

Again, the tour did not enter a full dataset. Creation and Drive linkage were the test. CSV appears as an export-shaped control when you need a portable table. Do not confuse that with a claim that every desktop spreadsheet macro exists here. Avoid inventing pivot tables, macros, or external connector stories the tour never saw.

The blank Spreadsheet appeared in Drive afterward with the Spreadsheet type label. Filter by item type → Spreadsheets found it. That is how you confirm the file left Docs and landed where Drive can organize it.

Create a Presentation

Click Presentation. The deck opens as Untitled Presentation with Oernoe Drive / Presentation and Saved to Oernoe Drive. Slide theme showed Light blue. Controls included Duplicate, a disabled Remove, New slide, Present, and Save. Default slide copy said Your first slide and Add a clear point and make it yours. Slides · 1 and Slide 1 of 1 described the deck.

Present was visible. The tour did not run a full slideshow rehearsal. Remove stayed disabled while only one slide existed, which is ordinary UI caution rather than a broken-button story. New slide is the path when you need a second beat. Duplicate copies what you already have.

The blank Presentation appeared in Drive with the Presentation type label. Filter by item type → Presentations found it. Quota across Docs and Drive stayed on the order of 2 GB. On Drive’s own chrome the tour later saw 0.00 GB of 2.00 GB used after the three Untitled files existed, with Size unavailable on rows. Empty files do not prove storage math; they prove the creation path.

What Share actually does today

Press Share on a Document. The dialog opens as Share Document with this message: Sharing functionality is coming soon. You'll be able to share documents with specific people and control their access permissions.

No share was sent on the tour. No invite went out. No read-only or edit link was generated. No passphrase or expiry control appeared as a live share workflow. Access stayed disabled in the header.

Older How-To text still describes sharing by address or by read-only and edit links. Homepage and About language about collaborative documents with visible sharing permissions describes product intent. The deep tour’s live editor does not yet deliver that workflow. This journal follows the live UI when the two conflict.

Until Share ships, treat Docs as a personal writing surface that saves to your Drive. Do not promise a teammate a live Docs link you cannot create. Do not paste secrets into a Document on the theory that sharing will be fine later. Export and local copies remain the honest ways to freeze a draft for review outside the product. When Share does ship, prefer the narrowest permission that still lets the work happen, and revoke access when the project ends.

After creation: find the files in Drive

Drive at drive.oernoe.com is where the three Untitled files showed up. Home listed 3 items, Newest items first. Rows showed Untitled Presentation (Presentation), Untitled Spreadsheet (Spreadsheet), and Untitled Document (Document), with Size unavailable and actions such as Move, Star item, Move item to trash, and Edit.

Filter by item type options included All types, Folders, Documents, Spreadsheets, Presentations, and Uploaded files. Documents, Spreadsheets, and Presentations each filtered to their one matching file. Uploaded files showed Nothing here yet and Create a folder, document, or drop files here — because the tour did not upload binary files.

Shared with me headed shared but still showed the same three personal test files rather than a clearly shared-only or empty list. That looks like a view or filter quirk, not proof of live collaboration. Do not teach Shared with me as a finished share inbox based on that pass.

+ New opened Create New / Choose what you'd like to create, required Name, and disabled Document, Spreadsheet, Presentation, and Folder until a name is entered. The tour closed without creating anything extra. Separate New folder and Upload files entry points were visible but not used in the Docs creation test.

What this how-to does not claim

It does not claim Share is live. It does not claim every How-To export format was clicked on the tour. It does not claim Maps, Music, Studio, News, or an unreleased mailbox product. Mail remains upcoming research and development and was not accessed. It does not invent Office clone feature lists. It does not claim a network-wide ad-free promise.

Docs content is product data for your account. It is not a Search listing and not AdSense input. The Docs editor itself should not load AdSense. Selected finished pages on Oernoe's main website host may show Google AdSense with non-personalized requests by default; that is a Oernoe website-hub story, not a Docs story. Search queries are not sold as advertising profiles.

Practical checklist

Sign in so Docs and Drive share one session.

Open docs.oernoe.com and confirm Autosave enabled and the 2 GB quota chrome.

Create Document, Spreadsheet, or Presentation from Start something new.

Confirm Saved to Oernoe Drive in the editor footer or path chrome.

Open drive.oernoe.com and filter by Documents, Spreadsheets, or Presentations to find the Untitled file.

Press Share only if you need to read the coming-soon message yourself. Do not send a share. There is nothing live to send.

Rename thoughtfully when you start real work. Untitled is fine for a blank test. It is a poor permanent title.

Quota reminder: Docs showed 0.00 MB of 2 GB used; Drive showed 0.00 GB of 2.00 GB used after the three Untitled files existed. Treat that as the free ceiling observed on this tour, not as a promise of unlimited storage.

Privacy and support while you create

Do not paste production API keys, raw medical records, or Health notes into a Document you might later share widely once Share ships. Prefer narrower drafts until permissions exist. Sign out on shared computers.

For product bugs — including Share staying on coming soon longer than expected — write support@oernoe.com with time, browser, and what you clicked. For privacy or export questions about Docs-related account data, write privacy@oernoe.com from the account address and name Docs. Never send passwords, one-time codes, or session cookie screenshots to any Oernoe inbox.

Why this page stays specific

Every journal URL should leave you able to do one job. For this slug, that job is: how to create a Document, Spreadsheet, or Presentation in Docs. If a control is coming soon, we say coming soon. If a landing page is all we verified, we do not invent a logged-in dashboard. If Tracker is a personal life tracker on the live UI, we do not teach it as ops telemetry. Product hosts such as search.oernoe.com, docs.oernoe.com, drive.oernoe.com, chat.oernoe.com, ai.oernoe.com, health.oernoe.com, tracker.oernoe.com, and account.oernoe.com remain the places to open the work itself. The Oernoe website remains the place for journal essays, guides, and company pages.
